Bone construction
The results of a tooth loss lead besides the reduced chewing function and aesthetics primarily to a bone loss. The causes are in the missing or not physiological impact of chewing strength . In extreme cases the jaw can shrink so far that an artificial limb hold is no longer possible and even the jaw can break at extreme cases.

With the help of bone substitute material it is possible to support the pine construction after the tooth removal or to hold back the bone reduction. These techniques meet with limits, though, if an absolute jaw chamber rise is striven for. In such cases primarily endogenous transplants come into consideration.
Also in the context of surgery of paradentosis and implant surgery substitute materials are used for the bone construction. The reason lies primarily in the dummy function of the substitute material for the healing bone.
